Hello everybody from the Reed family. Well it has been some months since we posted anything so here are the updates on zion. She is now 8mos. yrs old and weight in over 15lbs now. Zion is very active, she is pulling herself up and reaching for everything lol. She is now starting to roll over and she holds her head up real good.She is drinking between 5.5 to 6 oz of milk and she is eating baby food as well. Right now she only likes sweet potatoes lol. Milestone

Zion was born 1 lb and 10 oz on Feb. 2 2010, this May 2 2010 Zion turned 3 mos and was weighted in over 6lbs. Zion is doing so well and we are so blessed that God has kept his hand on our little girl.

I would like to thank everyone who has gave much prayer & support to our family. It has ment the world to us more then you will know. Zion is now 6 lbs. and counting, were are so happy and thankful for our gift that God has blessed us with. Our long road has made us a stronger and closer family.Again we thank everyone for everything they have done & is doing.

ZION CONTINUES TO PROGRESS

JUST A BRIEF UPDATE TO LET EVERYONE HEAR FROM US, ZION IS CONTINUING TO PROGRESS. SHE CURRENTLY WEIGH 5 POUNDS AND 6 OUNCES. SHE WILL BE MAKING ANOTHER DOCTOR'S VISIT FRIDAY. ZION WEIGH IS IMPROVING AND THAT IS WHAT THE DOCTORS EXPECT. SHE IS BEING FED EVERY TWO TO THREE HOURS AND IS ABLE TO MAINTAIN HER FORMULA.

SHE IS DOING FINE! WE THANK EVERYONE FOR THEIR PRAYERS!

BABY ZION IS HOME!

Zion is at home and resting well. She was weighing five pounds and two ounces when released from the hospital in Birmingham. We would like to thank God and everyone that prayed a pray or said a kind word. Zion is just beautiful and has her own little personality already.

Pray for a smooth transition at home and strength for caregivers of our precious little angel Zion!!

Zion is doing so well she is 4lbs & 5oz today. You can tell by her Easter picture that God has his hands on her. We are so grateful for our little girl that God has blessed us with this year.Zion is close to coming home and we can't wait for that day. We want everybody to know that as Zion gets ready to come home, Doctors have said that we must keep her away from people as much as possible. Doctors said due to Zion being a premie she can get sick real fast which could lead to RSV which could lead to death. Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), which causes infection of the lungs and breathing passages, is a major cause of respiratory illness in young children. Daymesha and I must protect our little blessing that God has given to us. Doctors have said we must keep Zion in the house for 6 months, except for doctors appointments, and away from little kids. Which means family members will have to be understanding to the Doctors and our request to give us time and space for at lease 6months for Zion's immune system to get stronger. So everyone please be understanding if we don't allow visitation, Zion safety is #1. We thank everyone for your prayers The Reed Family

Zion

Zion is doing well & she's off the feeding tube and is feeding off the bottle. Zion has hit the 4lb mark and she is now in the crib.We give God the praise!! We are going through a lot of changes in this season, but we thank God for what he has and is doing.We want everybody to know that we have alot going on, but will try to update as much as we can.

Little Princess Update

Zion is now a big 3pd 10ozs. When I saw her on Friday she looked like a new baby girl. She has fat on her thighs and she doesn't have a neck, she is getting so big and developing amazingly well. Each day I'm at home going through the hustle and bustle I think about all the little things I'm missing but Zion will be home really soon and then I can spend all the time I want with her. The doctor rounded Saturday morning and said that when she is around 4 1/2 pounds she will be able to go to a crib so she can learn how to keep her body tempature up. I am so amazed at God's handy work when I see her. He gave my husband and I a sneak peak at his marvelous work.

Update for My Little Princess

Zion is doing well. I spoke with her nurse this morning and she is 3pds 5oz. She is now up to 30ccs of feeding. She had her second bottle on Tuesday and took all 30ccs from her bottle. She will now take a bottle once a week because of her age (32 weeks gestation and 7 weeks old). Her feeding tube has been taken out of her mouth and is now in her nose because of her weekly bottle feeds. I will keep the blog updated as much as possible but if you don't see any updated posts just know she is doing well. Thanks for your prayers

ZION REACHED THE THREE POUND MARK!

GOD IS SO GOOD! WE WILL CONTINUALLY PRAISE HIS NAME. ZION HAS REACHED THE THREE POUND MARK. SHE IS EXACTLY THREE POUNDS AND TWO OUNCES. ZION ALSO RECEIVED FORMULA FROM A BOTTLE FOR THE FIRST TIME TODAY!! SHE WAS ABLE TO SUCK 10CC FROM HER BOTTLE.


THE DOCTORS SEE NO PROBLEM WITH GAINING THE AMOUNT OF WEIGHT IN ORDER TO COME HOME BUT THERE ARE OTHER ISSUES. ZION SEEMS TO LOSE BODY TEMPERTURE WHEN REMOVED FROM THE INCUBERATOR AND ALSO HER HEART RATE DROPS.

SO, WE ARE STILL ASKING FOR PRAY THAT THOSE ISSUES CLEAR UP AND SHE WILL BE ON HER WAY HOME. THE SUCKING OF FORMULA FROM HER BOTTLE ALSO MUST BE AT A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF OUNCES PER FEEDING.

SHE IS STILL BEING FED EVERY THREE HOURS AND TOLERATING THE INCREASE IN FORMULA. WE WILL CONTINUE TO GO THROUGH THE PROCESS UNTIL GOD SAYS NOW IS THE TIME FOR YOU(ZION) TO BE AT HOME WITH YOUR FAMILY.

SWEET ,SWEET ZION

Just a few words to my sweet,sweet granddaughter Zion. Can't wait until you come home. Zion is currently weighing two pounds and thirteen ounces slowly approaching the three pound mark.

She is progressing and looking so big! Her little cheeks are so full,but mom said that it is "fat pockets." I don't know what it is but she looks so cute with fat cheeks.

In her pictures she look very alert of her surroundings. There isn't much to say today about progress, except that everything looks really good. We thank God everyday for his mercy and grace.

PS. GRANNY WILL ALWAY BE THERE FOR YOU! JUST CALL MY NAME SWEET,SWEET ZION!

Our LIttle Baby Zion! Miracle Manifestation

Zion is progressing and she is on her way to a full recovery.Death and Life is in the power of the tongue, So we speak and spoke LIFE from day one. WE thank GOD for his MERCY and GRACE everyday.

Zion is presently weigning two pounds and ten ounces. She is so Beautiful that we can't help but see how AWESOME our GOD is. Zion and family are enjoying her new room at the Women and Infant Building,which provides the privacy needed.

Continue to pray until Zion reaches her next level, arrival at home. We will continue to PUSH (pray until something happens)and that something is Zion united with mom, dad, brother and other loving family members.

SWEET BABY ZION

God is SO! SO! GOOD! Zion is doing great . She is weighing two ponund and seven ounces and gaining. Zion is able to breath on her on and can tolerate her formula without much left undigested. The doctors stated that if she continues to gain weight at this rate she might be able to come home at four pounds.

She is such a Miracle in our life and God knew just when to bring her into the Earth. We thank HIm for being all knowing. There isn't much news to add but that Zion is on her way to a full recovery. Pray that she will stop pulling out her feeding tube. She is so busy that her little hand get caught in the cord and up comes the tube.

WHAT THE DEVIL MEANT FOR BAD GOD HAS TURNED IT AROUND FOR GOOD!!!!!

Zion is on her way up!

Zion is now 2pds 4ozs and feeding at 21ccs. She has a lot of bowel movements, which is good because she eats every three hours. She is beginning to show her personality and is very alert. We are so proud of her and all her milestones!!!!

Baby Zion Improving Everyday

Zion has maintained her two pound mark! She is exactly two pounds and two ounces.
Zion is very alert and has her eyes open alot throughout the day. She is now receiving twenty cc of formula every three hours.

God has a plan and a purpose fof every living thing that he created and we know that Zion has a great plan waiting on her. Mom is enjoying hold Zion skin to skin and bonding more and more each day.

Zion is breathing on her own most of the time unless oxygen is needed she will continue to work her little lungs to perfection.

As Donnie said, "When you have done all that you can do just STAND", and see the SAlVATION of the LORD.

Baby Zion Striving On

Zion strive on! Zion currently has lost a few ounces . Her last weigh in was one pound and fifteen ounces. We expect progress and regress but the outcome is WE WIN! The doctors decided to change her formula to something different. The new formula has more protein in order to help her gain weigh and hopeful maintain it.

Zion is very active which contributes to some of her weigh lost. She is doing fine in spite of the weigh lost. God has already predetermined her destiny and she is somebody in Christ.
Continue to pray for the Reed family so that they all will soon be together as a family.

Zion A Miracle in the Making

Zion is continuing to gain weight and strength. She is weighing over two pounds now and digesting all 18cc of formula without any undigested formula left. Zion is fed every three hours and she can't seem to wait for her feeding.

We as a family had to really truth in God and not just say we do. There is always a reason for everything that happens in this journey called life. GOD is our main source and not our own strength.

He said to Cast All Our Cares Upon Him and that is what we did. I personally would like to thank everyone for there prayers and support.

GOD HAS THE WHOLE WORLD IN HIS HANDS!!!

Zion Has Reached The Two Pound Mark!!

We thank God everyday for his Mercy and Grace that he has shown to our family. Zion is progressing rapidly and God is the heavenly instrument behind it all. She is continuing to digest her formula and breathe on her own.

Zion is a miracle in the making and a testimony in progress. We acknowledged God in everything we do and thank him for our little miracle baby Zion.

Continue to pray for the Reed family's strength in the Lord.

Zion Continuing Progress

Just a few words to let everyone know that Zion is doing fine. She is continuing to progress. Mom held her skin to skin today and that was a long awaited moment. Zion could hear her mom's heartbeat and mom could feel her little bundle of joy.

Zion is getting closer and closer to weighing two pounds. It might not seem like much to weigh two pounds but it is a milestone for the family of precious little Zion.

Zion you came early,but right on time in God eyes & his hands. Thank you God for perfecting that which concern me which was and is my growing family.

Zion Progressing Daily

Zion is resting well and she continues to improve daily. Mom is very pleased with her improvement and thank God every day. Zion's still is on 17cc of formula and continues to gain ounces slowly.

There is not much to tell today. Zion is a fighter and it is evident in the way she continues to recover from her setbacks. God has her in his hand and is in control of everything that happens.

Mom and Zion both are enjoying the privacy of her own room. We continue to need the prayers of the Saints and thank everyone for their support.

Baby Zion God Loves You

Zion is improving each and everyday. She is in a private room in Birmingham and that is nice. Zion is presently weighing one pound and fourteen ounces. She is currently taking in 17 cc of formula.It is amazing how Zion's little body is able to tolerate the constant increase of formula. We Thank God for his mercy and grace daily.

Zion is very active and prefers not to be bothered. She sleeps most of the day. Mom is able to hold her when she desires. All these blesses of such a constant improvement in Zion's health is from our father above and we give him the praise. He chose the date,time and place for her arrival into this world. We know he is in control of everything that is going on.

Baby Zion is Resting Well

Zion is in her private room in Birmingham and mom is very delighted with it. There is a feel of more privacy with the placement. Sion has gained a few ounces. She is now weighing 1 pound and 13 ounces. She is breathing on her own with a little oxygen supplied. She continues to need the feeding tube in order to receive her formula.

DJ and Derion continues to travel every weekend to visit. The entire family is strecthed but Zion is worth it all. She is having restful days and night and we thank God for the improvement.Mesha,DJ and Derion know that it is a slow process until Zion comes home but they hold onto the faith that she will come HOME .

Granny's Baby Zion

Zion continues to show improvement and strength. Her formula intake was increased to 16cc every feeding. God is so good Zion is able to digest the formula without any serious issues. Mom is continuing to rest and watch over Zion. She was also visited by her great grandparent this weekend.

Zion will be placed in a new building tomorrow,Women,Infant and Children Building this is another sign of her improvement. She still is weighing 1 pound and 11 and a half ounces.

Our Angel Zion Still Moving Forward

Zion is still moving forward. We are so excited about her progress and know that God will continue to show up in her life. Mom is doing fine but trying to rest some as well as watch over Zion. Zion was placed in the CCN unit last night and is resting.Continue to pray for the family as the journey has just begun. The battle is not our but it is the LORD's and guess what we WIN! Continue to REST ZION and grow your family is waiting for you to come home.
